Ingredients

Serves : 2
  • 1 nos white pomfret fish big size, cut into 3 to 4 pieces


  • 2 tsp salt ( as per taste)


  • 1 1/2 tbsp lemon juice


  • 1 tsp black pepper powder


  • 1 tsp turmeric powder


  • 1 tbsp garlic paste


  • 1 nos onion finely chopped


  • 1 tsp garlic finely chopped


  • 2 nos green chilli finely chopped


  • 2 tbsp coriander leaves finely chopped


  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder


  • 1/2 tsp cumin powder


  • 1/2 tsp coriander powder


  • 1/2 cups refined oil

Directions

  • Clean the fish fillets or pieces and marinate with salt, turmeric powder, black pepper powder, 1 tablespoon of lemon juice, garlic paste and 1 tablespoon of oil for 30 minutes.
  • Heat oil in a non stick pan and fry the fish pieces under medium flame.
  • When both sides are done, take out the pieces and keep aside.
  • If you have excess oil in the pan then reduce it to 2 tablespoon.
  • Now add chopped garlic and onion and cook until the onions are translucent.
  • Next add the dry spices a pinch of turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, red chilli powder, chopped green chilli and salt to taste.
  • After mixing the masalas add 1/4 cup of water and add the fish pieces.
  • When the water is almost drying up add 1/2 tablespoon of lemon juice and give a good mix.
  • Switch off the gas and garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot.
